Before Applying
Before you start to create your
character, here are a few things it
might be helpful to know:
- XMM requires the use of livejournals as part of play. While no one is forced to post logs, you will need one in order to take part in IC communication while on missions. We also use our wiki heavily for plot purposes.
- XMM is a fast-paced game. While our idle policies aren't over-strict, many people find themselves feeling lost if they are not logged on at least every other day, and during plots most people involved are on and RPing every day.
-
X-Factor recruits talented individuals with something to offer the team, either mutationally or in their skill-set. They look for a background suitable to the job, a history of dedication, loyalty, and teamwork, and a potential to become more with appropriate training. X-Factor must be aware of the recruit's mutation, and recruits must be at least 18 years old, although X-Factor prefers older agents with a solid background of experience. US citizens are preferable.
-
A Mutant Registration Database was created in 2005, and from June 2006 to March 2007, registration was mandatory. Those who did not register during this time (and many chose not to) were breaking federal law.
-
A Sensitive Positions law means that promotion to certain jobs requires a test for mutation - and allows employers to fire mutants deemed to be a security risk. This especially affects military and police workers.
-
Xavier's School was outted to the public as a mutant school in October of 2006. The X-Men were outted when an asteroid threatened the earth in June of 2008.
-
In the game's history, 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan both occured, but the Iraq war did not.
